The Swiss Connection

An academic web diary about my master's thesis.

About Me

I am in my 30s and I am currently studying for a master's degree. My path to uppder education was fraught with many obstacles. Coming from a modest family in Switzerland, I was an average student and was not able to get into University upon getting out of gymnase. I then went to an evening school to prepare for the entry exams for two years. I successfully got into Social Sciences, where I studied for a year before transferring to History. But once there, everything crashed down. Two years into my bachelor, I dropped out. After a sabbatical year and despite less than ideal circumstances, I resolved to take up my studies in France. I successfully finished my bachelor in 2024 and I am now studying for a master's degree in History.

After a whole semester of struggle, I am finally getting started on my master's thesis. Despite the kindness of my thesis director, I feel isolated and alone. As I have few friends IRL, I have felt the need to get out my interrogations, my anxieties and my passion out there. Somewhere. And thus this website was born. I do not know how consistent I'll be with this endeavour, but hopefully it can help weather through this exciting and scary time in my studies.
